You have probably seen street interviews of people being asked “what their least favorite trend is”. These interviews seem to be ways to get others’ opinions on trends, even though their opinion is not needed. A lot of times, the people getting interviewed dress/look like the trend they dislike. This seems to look like a humiliation ritual, because why would one hate on something but look/dress just like that thing?

I find these interviews to be the dumbest things known to man. Like, ugh, let people wear what they want to wear. Let them like what they want to like. You have no right to hate on what someone else may like to wear. I find that this kills individuality in the online fashion world tbh. People love to depend on others’ opinions about their outfits and such, that they don’t think about what they like.

They are so focused on what others might say, which truly ruins the point of having personal style. These interviews really add fuel to the problem of individuality, as people think it’s ok to hate on trends. I personally believe that you should follow trends. I say this because trends are ways to find your personal style, a way to find what you like. If you don’t participate in trends, how will you find your personal style?!!!! Ugh!!!

Let’s let people dress how they want, participate in whatever trend they want, and like what they want. Fashion is a way to express yourself, and no one’s opinion matters more than your own. Just dress the way you want and like what you want. You can’t find a personal style if you don’t experiment with fashion. Also, clothes have no gender. Wear whatever you want. Be free in the way you express yourself!!!
