I have been listing to a lot of different people for a few months now and I feel that most of them give off a very summery vibe or a vibe that is currently aligning with my current life situation.
These are artists that I have known for a while some are new to me. They all hold a special place in my heart as they make me feel hurt, secure, and peaceful.
1. CODE KUNST
CODE KUNST is someone I have recently, as of last November, have gotten into. His music is the type to make you feel at home just like his Instagram bio states “hope my music makes you feel at home.” I personally find his music to be very calming and it always makes me happy to hear the marination of all the beats he had cooking up. Aside from his music he also is a fantastic fashionista. He had a very unique style that has a boyfriend feel to it, it has a very hip taste to it too which makes him even more cooler. He recently released his new album called “Remember Archive.” Which in my opinion is so good. It has a sense of everything. It’s has the settle amount of R&B and a great amount of HipHop. The album features Tiger JK, WOO, PH-1, Wendy, Gaeko, LeeHi, and others. Overall it’s a really good album. But my favorite song of all would be BAD BAD featuring Tabber and Jay Park.
2. Wave to Earth
Wave to Earth have this aura or energy that is quite indescribable. They are a K-Indie band from South Korea. Their music always makes me feel like main character. I always feel as if things are just going my way and not the other way around. They also have a peaceful aura and energy that makes you feel peaceful and calm at any given moment. They have recently released an album called “0.1 flaws and all.” and honestly is the best on my way over hard. One of my favorite songs from that album is called “bad”and it genuinely is so alarming because he talks about describing a person and the person making you laugh. There is one line in particular and it says “how can my day be bad when I’m with you?” This line reminds me of a friend that literally always makes me laugh and my day could never be bad when I’m around this person. Overall, I think that Wave to Earth is the best band on earth, because they are just so calm and peaceful.
3. SZA
SZA has always had the girls going. She released her album “SOS” and let me just say that album was so meaningful. Some things she says had touched my heart as they related to me. I also felt very powerful whilst listening to it. It’s as if she had put all her emotion into this album, which makes things more vivid for the listener. Her aura or energy always makes me feel cozy, and comfortable. She is like someone I could reach out to and would comprehend my emotions and situation. She relates to me as if she is me. Sometimes I could see my self in her. Whenever I look at her I feel like I could do better, she motivates me to be my best self, whilst feeling like I’m not good enough. Her music also has that same vibe. The vibe that makes me feel like “ok they hurt me but like I can do better” this type of feeling is what I get from her which honestly shapes the way I am at times.
4. Lana Del Rey
I have a friend who listens to Lana and at first I was like “Lana Del Rey isn’t all that, but recently I have started listening to her. Let me just say I’m hooked. Her songs make me feel like I’m the main character to my story (which I am but at times don’t feel like it). She adds more to my dark femininity which makes up for everything. Like SZA she makes me feel like I could do better. I cant pick any of her songs that make me feel like “that girl” because she is just that girl and all her songs all have that vibe. Whenever I listen it makes me want to just sing out loud because she is just that powerful and inspiring. Something I really love about her is that she honest and sings about relatable things that anyone ay be going through.
5. Jannabi
Ah…this band is my current favorite aside from all the other people I listen to they make me feel nostalgic about my life. One of their songs “ASTEARGOBY”. It reminds me a lot of the theme song from “The adventures of Tom Sawyer” (the cartoon). When I was younger I would always watch this cartoon and the theme song is quite similar to this song. Their whole vibe makes me feel like I could honestly fly. They kinda have that coming of age energy, they make me want to stay a teenager forever. They are a K-indie band, so of course the songs are in Korean. These days songs aren’t that well produced in my opinion but their songs are just magnificent. The production is always top notch which makes me more intrigued into listening to them.
All of these artists genuinely make up who I am. I find myself listening to people who kinda make me feel better and deliver good vibes to make me want to be better. I truly love that because in this day in age things are very hectic but having music that makes feel happy and want to do better things make me feel great.
